On Oct. 3, an airstrike in Kunduz, Afghanistan by the U.S. military hit the Doctors Without Borders hospital, killing 30 people, including 13 staff members, 10 patients and seven unidentified bodies. U.S. officials have said the airstrike was requested by Afghan forces under fire from the Taliban, and the hospital was mistakenly hit.
“Right now, we should see what our own investigation turns up,” Ms. Clinton said in response to a question from a student during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, according to The Hill. “Let’s see what they conclude because they’re going to have access to a lot more information than any third party.”
When the student further asked if the military can be trusted to thoroughly investigate itself, Ms. Clinton said she believes it can. “The military has a long history of doing after action reviews, and sometimes they have to be pushed to do it.”
