The proposal was opened up for public comment Dec. 7. If implemented, adult Medicaid enrollees would be required to work 20 hours per month, increasing to 80 hours per month after one year.
Medicaid expansion was one of the cornerstones of the campaign of Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam, MD, but the state’s GOP legislature would only support the proposal if paired with a work requirement.
