HHS secretary makes 5 department appointments

HHS Secretary Alex Azar made five appointments to the department April 6.

Here are the five members added to the agency.

1. Mr. Azar selected Judy Stecker to serve as assistant secretary for public affairs. She previously served as executive director of media relations and strategic marketing at the American Enterprise Institute.

2. Jeff Rosenberg was appointed to principal deputy assistant secretary for public affairs. He previously served as executive vice president at Crosby Marketing Communications.

3. HHS Deputy General Counsel Heather Flick took on a new role as HHS' acting assistant secretary for administration.

4. Adam Boehler will serve as deputy administrator and director of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation. He is the former CEO and founder of Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Landmark Health.

5. Dan Best will serve as senior advisor to the secretary for drug pricing reform. He most recently served as the corporate vice president of industry relations for CVS Health's Medicare Part D division.
