Ms. Weaver has served in the Alabama House of Representatives since 2010, including five years leading its health committee. She has also held management roles in urban, suburban and rural hospitals, HHS said May 18.
She will be the primary HHS representative in the Atlanta-based region that includes Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina and North Carolina.
