The agreement has Henry Schein gaining services to more than 25,000 physician offices, adding $300M in annual sales and taking on about 200 sales professionals, according to a news article.

While Cardinal Health has been in this industry for years, Steve Inacker, President of Hospital Sales and Services at Cardinal Health stated, “But serving the physician office requires a unqiue platform and service capability, some of which we had and some of which we recognized we had to build.”

Together, the two companies will focus on:

– The IDN customer

– Unique needs of the non-acute care market

Henry Schein Medical President Dave McKinley noted, “It was a matter of looking in the mirror and asking, ‘What are we good at, and how can we best support our customers going forward?’…”
