Healthcare policy has become the focus of discussion in an Ohio Senate race, according to the Dayton Daily News.
Rep. Jim Renacci, R-Ohio, has been criticized for attempting to repeal the ACA during his time in Congress and for supporting a proposal to freeze Medicaid expansion in Ohio. Mr. Renacci is running to unseat Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.
Mr. Renacci's team criticized Mr. Brown for failing to substantially change healthcare policy during his congressional career.
"Career politician Sherrod Brown has had 25 years in Congress to fix healthcare and has failed,” said Leslie Shedd, a spokesperson for Mr. Renacci, according to the Dayton Daily News. "Instead, he helped force through a disastrous government takeover of healthcare that drove premiums through the roof while slashing benefits."
