Cigna and HCA’s contract was due to expire Oct. 21, but the two organizations struggled to come to an agreement over HCA’s demand for increased reimbursement for its 40 Florida hospitals. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
With a deadline of Oct. 1, HCA is still negotiating a new contract with Aetna, according to the report.
