The hospital, previously owned by Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare, was purchased by HCA West Florida in October 2013.
“Since Tampa Community Hospital joined the HCA West Florida Family last year, we have placed a renewed focus on operational effectiveness and transparency. Our new name reflects our fresh start and commitment to serving the Tampa community with quality, compassionate care,” Jake Fisher, CEO of Tampa Community Hospital, said in a release.
For more than 34 years, the 201-bed hospital has been serving northwest Hillsborough and northeast Pinellas counties. Recently the hospital earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for accreditation by demonstrating compliance with national standards for healthcare quality and safety and also passed CMS’ Provision of Patient Safety Inspection.
