On Wednesday, the hospital sent out a statement saying its maintenance and business office workers voted to end their affiliation with the SEIU, thereby absolving the last union in place at Shasta.
However, a vote had not yet taken place. Instead, more than half of the union members had signed a petition to decertify the union, according to the report.
While the hospital says it has withdrawn its recognition of the SEIU at the facility as a result of the petition, a spokesperson for the union emphasized that no formal action to end the union has yet been taken.
