Clarence Silvia, the now-departed president and CEO, left as part of a system-wide consolidation to improve efficiencies and reduce redundant positions, according to the report.
Lucille Janatka, formerly the CEO of MidState Medical Center in Meriden, Conn., is now the president of the network’s central region and will lead the Hospital of Central Connecticut as part of that role.
Many of the eliminated positions were senior and middle managers, according to the report. The system made eliminations through layoffs, voluntary resignations and trimming vacant positions. The cuts are not expected to affect patient care but to make the system “agile and more productive,” a system spokeswoman told the Record-Journal.
