Greenville Hospital System in South Carolina Forms Affiliation With MinuteClinic

Greenville (S.C.) Hospital System, the largest in the state, announced it has agreed to affiliate with CVS Caremark retail healthcare subsidiary MinuteClinic and will provide physician supervision for the clinic’s nurse practitioners.

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, but the 1,268-bed academic system agreed to provide continuing education to MinuteClinic’s clinical staff, according to the announcement.

The two entities are working to integrate their electronic health record systems, but for now, MinuteClinic will continue faxing patient summaries to their primary care providers.
