Glenn Medical Center, EmCare form partnership: 5 things to know

Glenn Medical Center in Willows, Calif., has teamed up with EmCare, a provider of physician practice management services, according to an Appeal-Democrat report.

Here are five things to know about the partnership.

1. Under the partnership, EmCare will provide management and physician staffing for GMC’s emergency department, according to the report.

2. EmCare said it aims to reduce patient wait times, improve efficiency of care and enhance the overall patient experience.

3. GMC Administrator Barbara Rydgren told the Appeal-Democrat she hopes the partnership will result in physicians working less strenuous hours.

4. The partnership announcement comes as GMC is in the process of constructing a new hospital, according to the report.

5. EmCare partners with nearly 1,000 practices, serving hospitals, hospital systems and other healthcare organizations nationwide. The company’s services include recruiting, credentialing, scheduling, leadership training, education and billing.
