In a statement to the Silver City Daily Press, Interim CEO Alfredo Ontiveros said the layoffs were prompted by lower patient volumes and dwindling reimbursement.
The hospital did not provide the names or titles of those being let go, but Mr. Ontiveros said the layoffs will not have a negative effect on patient care. These layoffs come after hospital COO Jed Rudd and CFO Mike Metts’ departures from the organization, according to the report.
In addition to the layoffs, the hospital is leaving seven open positions unfilled.
