Those changes include adding waivers to allow states to repeal essential health benefits requirements, the community rating and guaranteed issue, according to the report. Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., said most of the group was tentatively in support of those amendments and wanted to see the final text, according to the report.
The conservative Republican Freedom Caucus was partially responsible for the demise of the American Health Care Act, the Republican’s ACA repeal bill that was withdrawn from a House vote last month.
