A WellStar press release said Dr. Lopes had resigned. But, in a letter to Mr. Budzinski, Dr. Lopes says, “I can only conclude that my termination was designed to prevent me from either reporting or making public the issues regarding the […] billing and revenue improprieties.”
In a response to Dr. Lopes, WellStar attorney Sharon P. Morgan denied his suggested cause of termination and said WellStar encourages reporting of billing and revenue discrepancies.
