Mr. Moffa retired in 2010 as an executive with Virtua. As vice president for design and construction management for Virtua, a role he served in since joining the firm in 1990, Mr. Moffa was responsible for the construction of the William G. Rohrer Center for HealthFitness in Voorhees, Township, N.J., said one of his sons, Louis R. Jr., according to the report.
James Rivard, senior vice president for support services at Virtua, worked with Mr. Moffa from 1997 through 2010.
“Lou was one of the hardest-working, fun-loving, and well-respected individuals that I have ever met,” Mr. Rivard said in a phone interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer. He added, “Lou always expected the best out of everybody, including construction companies and architects. He would always say to the companies, ‘Are you bringing your A-Team to the table?’ “
Prior to Virtua, Mr. Moffa joined the former Harford Construction Co. in Cherry Hill, N.J., as an estimator and project manager, and worked there into the late 1980s.
