Former Healthcare Financing Exec to Serve 25 Years in Prison for $1.9B Corporate Fraud Scheme

Rebecca Parrett, who served as an executive at healthcare financing company National Century Financial Enterprise, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for her role in a $1.9 billion corporate fraud scheme that included securities fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy, according to a 10TV news report.

Ms. Parrett was convicted in 2008 of her role in the financing fraud scheme, which was likened to a Ponzi scheme by officials. She fled the country soon after the conviction and was found and arrested by authorities in Mexico in Oct. 2010. Ms. Parrett claims she is innocent in the case brought against her, according to the report.
