Former CMS leader and hospital CEO joins UpStream Healthcare

Valinda Rutledge, a former leader at CMS and former executive at several health systems, joined UpStream Healthcare as chief corporate affairs officer.

In her new role, effective Feb. 15, Ms. Rutledge will support company executives and provide support to the primary care physicians who use UpStream’s services, according to a Jan. 19 news release.

Ms. Rutledge previously served as CEO of Charlotte, N.C.-based CaroMont Health and senior vice president of Marriottsville, Md.-based Bons Secours Health System. She later was a part of the founding leadership team at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation.

“As we move into a time of even greater demand for innovation in healthcare, I am excited to be working at UpStream and its unique model of value-driven primary care,” Ms. Rutledge said in the release.
