William Roe, the former CFO of Danbury (Conn.) Hospital, has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for embezzling more than $200,000 from the Connecticut hospital and a hospital in Ohio where he previously worked, according to a Hartford Courant report.
Mr. Roe was accused of stealing approximately $95,000 from Danbury and $75,000 from St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio. He instructed the hospitals to write checks to Cycle Software Solutions, a fake computer software company he founded, and the hospitals received nothing in return.
He was also charged with embezzling an additional $46,000 from Danbury by inflating the value of a house he owned in Ohio when Danbury financed his move from Ohio to Connecticut.
