In 2009, HCA received a certificate of need to develop the $100-$130 million hospital, but St. Vincent’s — which operates a facility just 20 miles from the planned location — disputed HCA’s growth projections.
The health systems decided to resolve the issue out of court and recently came to an agreement. Under the agreement, Memorial can move forward with its plans but must restrict its land search within a single area code.
