The district board agreed Friday to lease the district’s four hospitals and 11 clinics to a nonprofit board of business leaders to be chosen at a later date.
The idea was presented publicly for the first time last week. Following the announcement, Gov. Crist contacted hospital leaders to raise concerns about the relatively nontransparent decision process, according to the report.
