CMS Administrator Seema Verma previously denied Kansas’ request for lifetime limits, and Maine, Arizona, Utah and Wisconsin have all made similar requests.

“We’ve indicated we would not approve lifetime limits, and we’ve made that pretty clear to states,” said Ms. Verma, according to The Hill.

The Kansas proposal would have imposed a three-year limit on Medicaid coverage for able-bodied adults, at which point they would become ineligible for Medicaid coverage for the rest of their lives.
