EvergreenHealth CFO receives top honor

Chrissy Yamada, CFO of Kirkland, Wash.-based EvergreenHealth, was recently honored at Northwest Asian Weekly's Women of Color Empowered luncheon.

Ms. Yamada's accomplishments were recognized along with 12 others as part of the panel, "Women & Money Making a Difference," on Sept. 18.

Three times each year, the award program celebrates women from diverse backgrounds "who have broken through race and gender barriers in the workplace," EvergreenHealth said.

Ms. Yamada has been recognized for her leadership and work to influence a financial turnaround at EvergreenHealth, and the recognition comes on the heels of being named one of Puget Sound Business Journal's CFOs of the Year.

Under Ms. Yamada's leadership, EvergreenHealth has seen a $34 million turnaround. Her leadership has also funded an expansion of services, including new construction and continual acquisition of multimillion-dollar medical technologies.

In addition, she is noted for creating support systems for the uninsured and underinsured, while also protecting EvergreenHealth's financial needs when providing charity care, the health system said.
