Effective leaders essential to employee engagement and culture

In a recent blog post, Towers Watson held an internal roundtable to discuss how organizations build effective leadership in the workplace to ensure employee engagement and organization success.

The Towers Watson 2014 Global Workforce Study revealed that leadership is the main driver of sustainable engagement. However, the study also reported that only 48% of employees noted that their top management is leader effectively.

Towers Watson wanted to know how can organizations create effective leaders in the workplace.

The main foci of the roundtable included:

– Building a culture aligned with the organization’s strategy

– Performance dimensions in the leadership effectiveness model determining actions

– Employee views of factors that drive effective leadership

– How leader effectiveness changes with each organization’s strategy
