In an interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Mr. Trump addressed current debates on CEO pay. “It does bug me. It’s very hard if you have a free enterprise system to do anything about that,” Mr. Trump said. “You know the boards of companies are supposed to do it but I know companies very well and the CEO puts in all his friends … and they get whatever they want you know because their friends love sitting on the board.”
“That’s the system that we have and it’s a shame and it’s disgraceful,” he added. “You see these guys making these enormous amounts of money. It’s a total and complete joke.”
In the interview, Mr. Trump also discussed a preview of his tax plan as well as his thoughts on fellow Republican GOP candidates Ben Carson, MD, and Carly Fiorina.
