Doctor’s Hospital of Sarasota board names new chairman

The Doctor’s Hospital of Sarasota (Fla.) has named a new board of trustees chair, Eddie Morton.

Mr. Morton has been on the board since 2014. He owns downtown Sarasota’s Morton’s Gourmet Market, a gourmet grocery store previously owned by his father, Ted Morton. Mr. Morton is a Tampa, Fla., native and has lived in the Sunshine State for 47 years.

“Eddie’s proven leadership is an asset to the Board of Trustees. I look forward to another successful year as we continue our focus on delivering the highest quality of care to the Sarasota Community,” CEO Robert Meade said in a statement.
