The $25 million “Guardians of Public Health” campaign reported that it has received numerous inquiries in response to its announcement.
“We’re calling on doctors to once again answer the call to service by running for state and federal office so that together, we can stand as the guardians of our nation’s public health,” the campaign website states.
The campaign comes after the Senate voted 52-48 on Feb. 13 to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as HHS secretary. According to 314 Action, there are currently 27 Democratic physicians serving in state legislatures, six in Congress, and one as governor, Hawaii’s Gov. Josh Green, MD.
