The planned layoffs are in reaction to the state’s cuts to healthcare programs, including Medicaid payments to hospitals. Although the health system has not yet announced details, officials extended a voluntary separation incentive, which is a severance package featuring a bonus based on length of employment, according to the report.
In addition to the voluntary separation incentives and planned layoffs, the health system has taken on other cost-cutting measures, including reducing supply costs.
