The hospital also plans to close one of its medical floors, eliminating a nursing unit. by July 1.
John Sullivan, president of the hospital, said the cuts were necessary to stem losses. He also cited a Washington, D.C. bed tax of $500 per licensed bed and reduced disproportionate share funds as additional financial burdens, according to the report.
