That’s more than twice the number of voters who cited Medicare/senior concerns (8 percent), repealing/opposition to the ACA (7 percent) or healthcare delivery improvement (7 percent). Costs also ranked higher than single-payer system (5 percent) and increase access/decrease number of uninsured (6 percent).
Additionally, the poll identified costs as the top healthcare issue cited by voters in battleground states with competitive House, Senate or governor races. Twenty-three percent of voters in those states said they most want to hear candidates discuss costs compared to other healthcare issues.
The poll took place Feb. 15-20 among 1,193 U.S. adults.
