The groups have been meeting at Heritage’s Washington, D.C., offices every week for months. Along with White House officials, they’ve been crafting a plan that could potentially replace the ACA, though it has very little chance of passing through Congress in 2018.
Congressional Republicans may have moved past ACA repeal efforts, but President Donald Trump’s administration has signaled its support for the proposal.
“The White House fully supports the efforts of a broad coalition working to address the Obamacare disaster and increase affordable healthcare options for middle-class Americans,” said Hogan Gidley, a deputy press secretary for the White House, according to The Hill.
