Community Hospital Corporation announces executive retirements

In a recent press release, Wilson Weber, Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer, Community Hospital Corporation, and Cindy Matthews, Executive VP – Consulting, have announced plans to retire in July of 2018 after years of helping community hospitals improve along a path of stability and success.

Upon his retirement planned for July 5, 2018, Weber will have fulfilled 13 years of service with CHC. Matthews has been with CHC since 2007, and plans to retire from the organization on July 2, 2018, after more than 10 years of dedication.

Jim Kendrick, CHC president and CEO shared, “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Wilson and Cindy and wish we could work together for many more years, but I understand and support their desires to spend more time with family and I wish them well.”

Organizational Next Steps

Until July 2018, CHC will function as it does today with Weber and Matthews continuing their respective areas of responsibility and current reporting relationships. A search will begin for a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to replace Weber. Matthews’ responsibilities will be transitioned to her current Planning & Business Development team members. In addition, CHC will initiate a search for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to contribute financial expertise to support the growth and complexity of the organization.

Kendrick added, "CHC will continue to serve its mission to guide, support and enhance the mission of community hospitals and healthcare providers. We are a servant-minded organization with focus on supporting the future stability and growth of the hospitals we serve, in order to preserve healthcare in local communities."
