CHS acquired the former Scranton, Pa.-based Mercy Health Partners, which included Regional Hospital and Tyler Memorial, for $150 million. The capital infusion will allow Regional Hospital to upgrade its cooling towers and Tyler Memorial to expand its emergency and imaging departments, according to the report.
Expansions at Tyler Memorial, which cost roughly $5 million, began last year and will be unveiled today. Plans to update Regional Hospital’s cooling towers and air conditioning system are also in the works, although dates of constructions were not provided. Regional Hospital CEO Brooks Turkel said in the report CHS funded most of the capital improvements.
