CMS’ Seema Verma visits Hartford Healthcare to meet with physicians, experts

CMS Administrator Seema Verma met with physicians and experts from various healthcare organizations at Hartford (Conn.) Hospital Oct. 16 as part of her national listening tour to listen to and address healthcare professionals’ concerns.

During the meeting, Ms. Verma spoke with representatives from Hartford HealthCare and the Connecticut State Medical Society, among others, to gather feedback on CMS and to discuss how the agency can help ease the regulatory burdens on physicians.

Some key ideas discussed during the meeting included developing more consistent quality measures, facilitating care integration, strengthening support for Medicaid and addressing the opioid crisis affecting state residents.
