The Affordable Care Act tasks the CMI with testing “innovative payment and service delivery models to reduce program expenditures … while preserving or enhancing quality of care,” according to the report.
Dr. Gilfillan accepted the job directing CMS’ performance-based payment policy staff in August. Prior to joining CMS, he was a consultant for Geisinger Consulting Services.
