Mr. Armato joined Novant Health in 1998 as vice president of finance and operations for the physician divisions in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. Soon after, he was promoted to senior vice president of materials management and logistics. In 2003, Presbyterian Healthcare, part of Novant Health, appointed Mr. Armato as COO and then as president and CEO in January 2004. In 2008, he was again promoted to president of Novant Health markets and in 2011 to COO.
He also currently serves as chairman of board of Mecklenburg Citizens for Public Education.
Prior to joining Novant Health, Mr. Armato served as vice president of operations for First Care Physicians and director of finance for the General Health System in Baton Rouge, La. He was also a senior tax/audit consultant for Ernst & Young in the Baton Rouge office.
