CEO to know: Bill Leaver of UnityPoint Health

Bill Leaver took the helm of Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health as president and CEO in January 2008, when the system was known as Iowa Health System.

UnityPoint Health, an integrated health system with more than 24,000 employees and annual revenues of $2.7 billion, has relationships with 29 hospitals and more than 200 physician clinics throughout Iowa and Illinois. It is the fourth-largest nondenominational health system in the U.S.

Mr. Leaver has more than 35 years of executive healthcare experience. Before stepping into his current role, he served as president and CEO of Rock Island, Ill.-based Trinity Regional Health System, an affiliate of UnityPoint Health. He also held several senior executive positions at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit.
