Prior to joining Emory Healthcare in 1999, Mr. Fox served 10 years as executive vice president of Clarian Health in Indianapolis, and before that, he was vice president of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. While in Indianapolis, Mr. Fox co-led merger discussions between Methodist Health System, IU Medical Center and Riley Children’s Hospital, resulting in the formation of Clarian Health in 1995.
Mr. Fox is actively involved in healthcare policy. Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin named Mr. Fox chair of Atlanta’s Health Services CEO Forum, which brings together Atlanta’s healthcare service CEOs to improve the city’s medical care, education, technology and research and development. In addition, Mr. Fox often speaks to professional and civic organizations to address healthcare delivery and public policy transformation amid escalating costs and inherent challenges of recruitment, retention and reimbursement.
Mr. Fox’s professional memberships include the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Institute, the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals, the Atlanta Committee for Progress, the Metro Atlanta and Georgia chambers of commerce and the Atlanta Rotary Club.
