Prior to joining Via Christi Health, Mr. Korsmo spent 28 years with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., his hometown.
He served in a variety of leadership positions during his time there, including CFO of Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., and Rochester and chief administrative officer of Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He also served on the Mayo Clinic board of trustees.
Mr. Korsmo says there should be one main driver for everything that happens at Via Christi: the patient. “In healthcare, the patient comes first. This must be our guiding philosophy in the care we are delivering now and as we develop new models of care delivery to create greater value for the healthcare consumer,” he said in a news release.
In addition to his experience as a healthcare leader, Mr. Korsmo has also given presentations around the world. He also has participated in civic and professional organizations.
Mr. Korsmo earned a master’s degree in management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
