Centra CMO named Virginia secretary of Health and Human Services

Governor-elect Ralph Northam (D) named Dan Carey, MD, CMO of Lynchburg, Va.-based Centra Health, secretary of , according to The News & Advance.

Dr. Carey joined Centra in 2006 and served as CMO and senior vice president since 2014.

“We are incredibly happy for Dr. Carey and are thrilled he has this opportunity, but we will also miss him dearly here at Centra,” said E.W. Tibbs, president and CEO of Centra, according to The News Advance. “He has been such a tremendous asset to our community; from his advancements in our cardiology program, to his leadership skills as Centra’s CMO.”
