Capella University adds healthcare administration degree programs

Capella University, a regionally accredited online university designed to help working adults advance their careers, recently announced the first Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration program with a specialization in Leadership within its School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The program now completes a full suite of health care administration degree offerings with bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral level programs.

The BS in Health Care Administration degree coursework focuses on essential health care leadership competencies relevant to leading the dynamic and evolving nature of health care in the 21st century. The program supports knowledge and skill development in the use of analytics to drive decisions, quality improvement strategies, patient safety initiatives, and population health approaches.

“The complexities of the health care environment including emerging reimbursement models require fresh ways of thinking and innovation,” said F.Patrick Robinson, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean of Capella’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences. “This new program will prepare learners to become strong health care leaders adept at responding to the regulatory and policy changes brought about by health care reforms.”

To put these models into practice, learners are provided hands-on learning using Vila Health™, an immersive, virtual environment that allows them to encounter real world challenges and demonstrate competencies in a safe and supportive environment.

The BS in Health Care Administration program starts July 11, 2016. For more information, please visit www.capella.edu.
