Mid-America Medical District Could Expand Pending Gov. Quinn’s Signature

Mid-America Medical District in East St. Louis, Ill., may be allowed to issue bonds and expand into other communities, pending Gov. Pat Quinn’s signature, according to a News-Democrat report.

Legislation introduced by Rep. Tom Holbrook (D-Ill.) would give the small medical district authority to issue bonds for hospital building and expand into Belleville and O’Fallon in Illinois. The bill has already been passed by the state House and Senate and now awaits Gov. Quinn’s final approval, according to the report.
