An ad hoc hospital subcommittee is recommending that the county’s Department of Health Care Services be reorganized to separate the hospital into a standalone body.
The proposed board would include 11 members, including community members, hospital representatives and the chief medical officer of San Joaquin General.
The county board is expected to vote on the plan later today.
