St. Louis-based SSM Health’s Southern Illinois region signed an operational support agreement with McLeansboro, Ill.-based Hamilton Memorial Hospital District, CBS affiliate KFVS reported Sept. 1.
The agreement does not change ownership or oversight of the Hamilton Memorial, according to the report. The hospital district will continue to be governed locally by its board of directors. The partnership is intended to help Hamilton Memorial address challenges in compliance, recruitment and the treatment of specific conditions.
“This collaboration reflects a shared vision for the future of rural healthcare, allowing us to combine resources, expertise and innovation in ways that will benefit patients,” SSM Health Southern Illinois President Damon Harbison said, according to the report.
