Louisville’s Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Rejects $1B Deal From Community Health Systems

Louisville, Ky.-based Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare rejected a $1 billion offer from Community Health Systems to acquire the health system, according to a report by Business First.

The CHS proposal was unsolicited and was presented to the hospital board in early June, according to the report. Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s, which is currently operated by Catholic Health Initiatives announced last week it would explore a merger with University of Louisville Hospital.
