Biden to take cancer moonshot to San Francisco

Vice President Joe Biden plans to visit the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend to discuss his cancer moonshot initiative, according to CBS SF Bay Area.

During his visit, Vice President Biden plans to discuss the initiative at Genentech Hall on the University of California San Francisco Mission Bay Campus and then give the keynote address at the California Democrats State Convention in San Jose, according to the report.

The cancer moonshot is an initiative to improve cancer care and research that the White House allotted $1 billion to jumpstart. However, many have said the National Cancer Moonshot has been romanticized by its space imagery and it may be more of a slingshot.
