Jim Abrams, COO, Medline Industries (Mundelein, Ill.). As COO of Medline, Mr. Abrams oversees the operations of America’s largest privately held national manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies and services.
Alan Channing, President and CEO, Sinai Health System (Chicago). Mr. Channing’s career as a healthcare executive spans forty years, most of it in safety-net hospitals that serve vulnerable communities. Throughout his career he has stood for eradication of health disparities and putting “”ommunity” back into community hospital.
Jim Dague, CEO, Goshen (Indiana) Health System. Mr. Dague has served as CEO of Goshen Health System for 16 years. Upon his appointment, he and his management team led a remarkable turnaround of the health system. The health system is going on 17 years without layoffs and ranks in the 98th percentile for employee satisfaction.
Robert A. Fale, President and CEO, Agnesian HealthCare (Fond du Lac, Wis.). Mr. Fale has served as president and CEO of Agnesian HealthCare for nearly 16 years. He recently announced he will retire from this role Feb. 1, 2012, but will remain until then to focus on transition and other key issues.
Bill Leaver, President and CEO, Iowa Health System (Des Moines). Mr. Leaver became president and CEO of Iowa Health System in 2008. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO at Trinity Regional Health System in Rock Island, Illinois, for almost seven years American
Mark Newton, President and CEO, Swedish Covenant Hospital (Chicago). Under Mr. Newton’s leadership since 2000, Swedish Covenant Hospital has become the largest and most successful independent community teaching hospital on Chicago’s North Side.
Stephen L. Mansfield, PhD, President and CEO, Methodist Health System (Dallas). Mr. Mansfield has served as president and CEO of Methodist Health System since 2006. Before joining Methodist, Dr. Mansfield served seven years as president and CEO of the five-hospital St. Vincent Health System based in Little Rock, Ark.
Richard P. Miller, President/CEO, Virtua Health (Marlton, N.J.). Mr. Miller has led Virtua Health in innovative directions by creating a values-based culture defined by the “Star Initiative,” adopting Six Sigma, creating a learning lab environment modeled after Lean strategies, partnering with industry leaders such as GE, and transforming a group of community-based hospitals into technologically advanced regional medical centers.
