This round, 52 of the affected employees work at Baptist-Memphis Hospital.
“Healthcare is going through unprecedented change, and we’ll all have to do more with less. These changes will help position Baptist to provide the very best care for all of the mid-South,” Jason Little, Baptist’s executive vice president and COO, told the Memphis Business Journal.
Baptist had pointed to increased charity care and lower reimbursements from the government as the reason for the first round of layoffs.
