Ms. Jones, who was named one of the 50 most influential women in business in 2009 by the Long Island Business News, will replace CEO Todd Miller, according to the report. Mr. Miller used to be CEO of Revival Home Health Care, which previously planned on purchasing the troubled hospital. A state examiner revealed there was an “appearance of conflicts of interest” between Revival and Peninsula Hospital due to Mr. Miller’s dual roles, although there was no evidence of fraud or undue influence.
Peninsula Hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year and has undergone several challenges. Last month, the New York State Department of Health suspended the hospital’s clinical laboratory after it failed to meet accepted standards. The hospital also laid off hundreds of employees and came perilously close to running out of cash.
