Athenahealth to cut 146 jobs

Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth is cutting 102 jobs in San Francisco and 44 in Atlanta, according to the Boston Globe.

The 146 job cuts represent less than 3 percent of the medical software company’s workforce.

Although athenahealth is scaling back jobs in two cities, the company is planning to grow in others. Moving forward, the company will focus on growing three research and development hubs in Watertown; Austin, Texas; and Chennai, India, athenahealth spokeswoman Holly Spring told the Boston Globe.
